ガラス作家の加藤千佳さんは、その素材の特徴を欠点ではなく利点と捉え新たな価値観を創造し続けています。 . 陶芸家の木野智史さんは、ろくろ成形に取り組む中で、純粋で丁寧な作業の積み重ねがいかに難しく、かけがえのない美しさを引き出すかを語るよう。磁土と青磁に寄り添い、優美な造形を生み出すことに挑戦されています。 . 互いの作品に惹かれ合うお二人は、Sophoraの11周年の月に新風を運びます。 響鳴する作品や空間を是非お愉しみください。 . Glass colors the world with beautiful light, and is essential to our daily life. However, at the same time, it’s a fragile material. Glass artist Chika Kato considers this property of glass not as a weakness, but as a strength, and thus continuously approaches her work with fresh values. . Ceramic artist Satoshi Kino creates his works by throwing on the wheel, endlessly pursuing the pure yet difficult forms yielded by the instrument. He continues to imagine forth his shapes, comprised of porcelain and celadon glaze, which speak of the irreplaceable elegance of this quintessential technique. . The two artists, drawn by each other’s works, bring a fresh breeze to Sophora this month, as we celebrate our 11th anniversary. Please enjoy the resonance of these works and our space.
